A real moto mechanic...finally!

At the local Sport Bike Night I was a lucky winner of a complete pro tune-up for my motorcycle at Suicycle Extreme who's now offering full moto service from the experienced hands of Richard and Ryan Sims. Richard was part of Muzzys for many years and has a ton of racing, tech and customizing experience. Anyhow, after my tune-up, all I can say is that my V-Strom runs better than when it was new, or when worked on by factory techs or my lame little hands. They guarantee their work, so anyone living the Sacramento area really owes it to themselves to make and appointment and let them tune your bike, whether it's basic work or major custom mods. You might be surprised by what a monster you have with a pro-level tune-up.

The Sky's the Limit

Nic Skydiving Birthday

What an awesome birthday gift from my wife Renee! I got to go skydiving for the first time at the Lodi Parachute Center. It was one of the most relaxing things I've done (seriously) -- not an adrenaline rush, just a calming zen feeling. Not what I was expecting, but even more wonderful.

If you want to see some pictures, check this out.

My tandem instructor was great --a Norwegian paratrooper visiting the States -- and Wendi and Betty of Peak Adventures (and the whole group that came with us for that matter) were a blast. An unforgetable experience and another check off my very long bucket list. Of course, I was ready to go back up, so this probably won't be my last time. The landing wasn't so smooth -- bruised my tailbone -- but the pain was well worth it. Thank you Renee!

On a sidenote: What a fun filled, birthday weekend of various get togethers and parties as I raced from one to another. Thanks Renee, James, Tom, Eidy, Shelly, Troye, Brandon, Chris, Aimee, Christopher, Vanessa, Rachel, Penny, Dave, Tess, Brian, Ray, Miles and Maddy. Whew, that was a weekend! :D

CIM cho-cho-chooses FreeFrog!

As I mentioned in my March 4 post, the California International Marathon chose my design submission as their official logo for the 27th Annual California International Marathon. Wow!

Well after a lengthy review of various color options the CIM board finally decided my original color combination was actually the best! He he, that's why I submitted it in those colors, but I'm glad they came around to my way of thinking (wink). Whatcha see below is the approved logo released into the wild. You'll notice running imagery loud and clear in the design. If not, you need to get your eyes checked. ;-)

Anyhow, I can't say enough good things about CIM and the staff. Thanks again to CIM for cho-choosing me!
